Player

Player Notes

Lee Fitzgerarld (1)

Our top points leader this year in Seacoast Points Standings. Lee has been steadily progressively improving his golf game year after year.  in 2010 he came up short in moving into the "quarter finals", but last year he proved himself and become out 2011 Seacoast Cup Champion.  He is totally focused on defending his title this and hopes to keep the trophy for another year.

Ted Clinite (2)

Ted joined our Seacoast Cup Tour last year and played himself into the "Player's Bracket" to become the 2011 Player's Champion.  This year he has made it to the Championship Cup playoffs.    His clubs of choice are the "hybrid" irons which finds him well.  He finished 2nd in the points standings, proving he can be this year's champion.  His course management skills are true and he rarely has the "blow up" hole.  He will be a true contender.

Curtis Chan (3)

Curtis is the 2009 Seacoast Cup Champion. He was knocked out early in last year's playoffs and is determined to not get knocked out this year. Curtis admits that his driving has been steady all year long as he has gained confidence in his Taylor Made driver. His experience in match play format will make him a tough opponent in any match.  He always does well in the playoffs and has a record of consistently making it to the semi finals.

Justin Frisco (4)

Justin is very familiar with match play format as he has been playing competitive golf since high school days. His game is sound, and drives long. He admits that his time on the practice range has been limited in these years, but somehow he knows how to pull out wins. He will be a challenge in the playoffs.

Dan Anderson (5)

Dan is no newcomer to the playoffs. He has shown his expertise on the course these past years by showcasing his ability to make the shot when it is necessary. His experience at playing all the courses around San Diego will only help him in his playoff season. Dan's short game is continually improving, thus making him a more formidable opponent especially when it comes down to the stretch.

Andy Burich (6)

Andy has the ability to play with the best. He made it to the playoffs by showcasing his excellence in play during the few events he participated in this past year. His short game is stellar and when he has his driver in gear, he is very tough to beat.  His love for the game and knowlege of the skills it takes to win a match will no doubt be a factor to his success.  Any opponent will feel pressure when matched up against Andy.

Rik Thistle (7)

Rik has recently taken up golf as a sport he can play regularly.  He has participated in most of our events and has made it to the playoffs.  Although "match play" format is new to him, he is a true "student of the game" and has begun to post lower rounds.  He has learned to manage his game... thus making himself a tough contender.

Bill Brackett (8)

Bill is a regular to the playoffs as he's always made the special efforts to keep his points total up to be ready for the match play season. Bill's putting is sure and sound and in match play, you can count on him being there to the end.

Note:  Unfortunately, Bill had to forfeit his "Wild Card" appearance due to a back condition.  This gave the #13 seeded player a chance to enter the playoffs.

Keven Herold (9)
Keven is an incredibly gifted golfer.  He's really become more sharp with his custom fitted clubs.  He maintains a very respectable low single digit handicap.  Very long off the tee, he can easily overhelm any player with his awesome ball striking skills.  Keep your eye on him as he is a very tough competitor.  To beat him you have to be on your "A" game

Jim Freitas (10)

Jim has been one of our steadiest players of the year.  Always improving his skills, this year he's been keeping his drives on the fairways.  He's very experienced in the post season and this year he appears hungrier than ever to get to the Championship Match.   His index has been slowly improving each month indicating that his course management skills are becoming keener.   Don't underestimate his zeal to win any match.

Darren Maglidt (11)

Darren's golf game has been steadily improving month after month. He has incredible length off the tee. As long as he keeps his drives playable, he will be a very tough player to beat in match play. His ability to get up and down has help his index improve dramatically over this past year. He will be a tough match up for anyone.

Kent Coykendall (12)

Kent is our 2010 Seacoast Cup Champion. His game is very deliberate as his course management skills are precise. He rarely makes  back to back bad shots, and when he does find trouble, he recoups and recovers well.  An extremely tough competitor as he knows how to pull out wins.  His putting skills are very sharp.   You need your "A" game to compete with him

Geoff Baynes (13)
Geoff has been known to slowly groove his golf swing as the round progresses.  He's a very tough competitor with a "never give up" attitude.  He know how to handle pressure especially when it's all on the line.  If he keeps the ball straight, he can be very tough to contend with.
